目前主要从事高性能多功能高分子材料及其成型加工领域的教学和科研，主要研究方向有：新型碳材料、水凝胶、纳米粒子的分散复合新技术、射流场下制备高性能橡胶复合材料、剪切力场作用下复合体系的结构和性能等。

作为项目负责人，主持国家自然科学基金项目1项、科技部创新基金2项、上海市及江西等省部级科研项目2项和市厅级科研项目1项以及产学研项目4项。3项成果实现了产业化，为企业新增产值近12亿元，利税2.4亿元；获得上海市科技进步奖二等奖1项。发表学术论文60余篇，被SCI和EI收录24篇，申请国家发明专利15件（授权5件，其中5件专利被企业应用）。
